Shock as Nigerian nurse found dead in UK apartment

A Nigerian nurse based in Leeds, United Kingdom, Nnena Miriam, has been found dead in her apartment, sparking grief and shock within the nursing community both in the UK and Nigeria.

According to Fellow Nurses Africa, an organisation dedicated to advancing the nursing profession in Africa, Miriam’s body was discovered by the police after a missing person report was filed.

Concerned about her sudden absence from work and repeated unanswered calls, one of her close friends eventually filed a missing person report.

The police were said to have later found her lifeless body in her home.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the organisation stated, “It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we report the sudden passing of one of our own, Nnena Miriam, a dedicated and professional nurse based in Leeds, United Kingdom.

“Nurse Miriam was found dead in her room earlier this week under heartbreaking circumstances. According to reports, her last shift was on Sunday of last week.

Tragic Loss: UK-Based Nigerian Nurse Found D£@d

Nnenna Miriam, a 32-year-old nurse from Nigeria, was found d£@d in her Leeds, UK apartment.

She had recently returned from a traditional marriage introduction ceremony in Nigeria, where her engagement had been celebrated.

It was gathered that Miriam had just finished a routine shift at the hospital and became unreachable, prompting a friend to report her missing.

Police discovered her body, and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.

Colleagues described Miriam as a dedicated and kind nurse who cared deeply for her patients.

15 missing Anambra JAMB candidates, others found safe in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has said that all the 15 candidates who left Onitsha at the weekend for Imo State to write the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, earlier rumoured to have disappeared, have been found safely.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening by the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), it was stated that the students, proprietor, and members of staff of the Eminent Scholars Imperial Academy, Onitsha, Anambra State, had left Onitsha on May 16 for the Computer Based Test (CBT) centre in Okigwe Zone, Imo State, successfully wrote their examination, but were obstructed by their vehicle malfunction in Amuro, Okigwe axis, as they were going back to Onitsha.

BREAKING: Air Peace suspends flight operations nationwide

Air Peace Ltd. has announced the suspension of all flight operations nationwide due to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET).

This is contained in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Air Peace, Dr Ejike Ndiulo, on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to Ndiulo, the decision is necessary because NiMet is the agency responsible for issuing CNH (Current Nowcast of Hazardous Weather) reports, critical for safe landings, especially during this season of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

He said without these reports from the control tower, flight safety could not be guaranteed.

“As a safety-first airline, we have chosen to act responsibly by suspending operations until NiMet resumes full service.
