One of the victims abducted from a train in 2022, has opened up om the discussion he had with one of the kidnappers at a mosque in Kaduna State.

On March 28, 2022, an Abuja–Kaduna train was attacked in Katari, Kaduna, about 15 minutes to the arrival at its destination.

Hundreds of passengers were kidnapped while others were killed and injured by the bandits who bombed the train.

The train had left Abuja’s Idu station at 6pm and was scheduled to arrive at the Rigasa train station in Kaduna by 8pm

In a chat with Daily Trust, Comrade M Muhammad, who ran into one of his abductors at mosque, narrated what transpired during their hour-long discussion.

12 wedding guests attacked, killed In Plateau, 11 others injured

At least, 12 travelers from Basawa community of Zaria local government area of Kaduna state have been attacked and killed in Mangu local government area of Plateau state.

11 out the travelers who were injured in the attack, which happened on Friday, are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Our correspondent reports that a group of 31 travelers including men, women and children, were being conveyed in an 18-seater Bus, belonging to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, when they were attacked by the assailants around 8:pm.

It was gathered that the travelers were heading for Qua’an Pan LGA to attend a wedding ceremony when they ran into a mob.

The Chief Imam of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Suleiman Haruna, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said the corpses have been deposited at Mangu General Hospital.

19 passengers abducted on Benue road

At least 19 passengers were reportedly kidnapped by gunmen at Jor Community along Adoka-Naka-Makurdi Road in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, on Thursday morning.

The passengers were said to be travelling in two vehicles when the gunmen intercepted them and forced them away into the bush.

However, four of the victims – a toddler, driver, an elderly man and woman – were let off the hook by their captors.

Witnesses told our correspondent that the released victims, an aged man and woman believed to be natives of Kogi State, narrated that the kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons ambushed their vehicles (a Picnic Bus and Sharon Bus) and ordered all passengers into the bush.

Bandits now feed our babies to their dogs — Zamfara lawmaker cries out

A member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State, Rep Aminu Jaji has decried the worsening security situation in his constituency, painting a harrowing picture of bandit attacks, mass kidnappings, and general lawlessness that have left communities devastated and residents displaced.

Briefing journalists at the National Assembly, the lawmaker, who previously chaired the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, said over 200 attacks have been recorded in communities across Kaura Namoda Local Government Area alone, including Dayo, Banga, Gabaki, Korea, and Madura.

“Just two days ago, 60 people were abducted in Banga. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 30 million naira. Out of those abducted, 10 were killed, and the fate of the remaining 50 hangs in the balance,” he said.
