
The protest haka was seen around the world after images circulated of Māori Party member Hana-Rawhiti Maipi Clarke rising from her parliamentary seat, leading the war cry and tearing up an early draft of the bill.
Three MPs as well as Labour member Peeni Henare were referred to the Parliamentary Privileges Committee over the haka that shut down New Zealand parliament for 28 minutes last November.
This evening, that committee handed down its recommendations for punishments.
The haka was after a day of intense debate in the chamber following the first reading of the Treaty Principles Bill.
