The proposal was reportedly made in the midst of “Operation Rising Lion,” a major Israeli offensive that targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and top military figures. U.S. officials cited by Reuters said Trump rejected the idea, stating that the U.S. would not support such a drastic move unless American lives were directly threatened.

While Israeli officials have neither confirmed nor denied the report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed it as false.
