President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso arrived in Moscow for Russia’s Victory Day celebrations on May 9, 2025, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.

His arrival was marked by a private Russian plane escorted by fighter jets, symbolizing strong ties and high-level protection.

While in Moscow, Traoré met with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro at the Burkina Faso embassy, reinforcing South-South cooperation and their shared anti-imperialist stance.
