Over 200 people lost their lives in Nigeria on Sunday, June 14, 2025, as bandits stormed a village in Benue State, reigniting long-standing violence in the region.
In response, Nigerian stars like 2Baba, Falz, Odumodublvck, Mr Macaroni, and others are speaking out, urging the government and key stakeholders to take immediate action and restore lasting peace.
The ongoing conflict in Benue is driven by land disputes between Fulani herders and Tiv farmers, worsened by desertification, population growth, and deep-rooted ethnic tensions.
So far in 2025 alone, over 270 people have been killed and thousands displaced.
According to data provided by analyst Kabir Adamu, head of Beacon Security and Intelligence Limited, 1,043 people were killed in Benue between May 2023 and May 2025.
